Our Story

Celebration Church has been around for almost thirty years. The church was founded in 1988 by a core group of believers led by Rev. Dr. John Tweedie. Pastor John retired in 2015; he was succeeded by his eldest son, Rev. Lance Tweedie who has followed in his father’s ministry footsteps and is now our Lead Pastor. Formerly known as New Covenant Christian Fellowship, the name was officially changed to Celebration Church in 2017. Grateful for our heritage and excited about the future, we believe that the best is yet to come! We are located in beautiful Southern Ontario, just west of Toronto and the GTA, in the city of Brantford; home of Wayne Gretzky, the Zamboni, Alexander Graham Bell, and Celebration Church.

At Celebration Church we have one simple goal—to help people connect with God so that they might reach their full potential. With the help of the Celebration Team, utilizing the Growth Track and Community Groups we are committed to seeing this dream become a reality.

Celebration Church is focused on reaching those who do not know God personally and building relationships through Community Groups. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday celebrations, and the simple style of Celebration Church has caused us to be known as the happy church. Our focus is people, and people committing their lives to Christ. At the same time, we want to help plant other churches and give a significant portion of our income to missions.

Today we are known as Celebration Church, or #happychurch.  We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple, and people are free to celebrate God’s grace and goodness together!
